The creators of our featured hashtags recently made the "8 Women of Colour to Follow on Twitter" list, where they were distinguished for their continued efforts in social justice, scoping topics such as feminism, equality, and equity.
April, reigns at the top of the list. As number one the article notes her consistent efforts online and offline in promoting equality within the sexes and even arts. The former is shown with her #wocaffirmation where women of colour are encouraged to discuss and support each other and the verbal abuse they face. Meant to contrast the difference between white and women of colour when it comes to harassment and acknowledgement.
Feminista Jones joins her at number two. Her creation and curation of the internationally acclaimed campaign #youoksis is what distinguishes her from the rest.
